Michelangelo Pistoletto

President of the Jury

Born in Biella, Michelangelo Pistoletto gained International acclaim since the 1960s, with his famous Mirror Paintings. Since 1965, with the set Minus objects, he inaugurated the art movement of Arte Povera (Poor Art), of which he’s the leading figure. During the 1990s he established the Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto and the University of Ideas, aimed at a responsible transformation of society through art. Since 2004, he began the most recent phase of his work, called Third Paradise. Promoter of the Rebirth-day in 2012, the first universal day of rebirth, in 2013 the Louvre Museum of Paris hosted his personal exhibition “Michelangelo Pistoletto. Année 1 – Le Paradis sur Terre” and in 2014 the symbol of the Third Paradise has been installed in the hall of the Council of the European Union’s headquarters in Brussels. In  2015 he created a monumental sculpture, entitled Rebirth, in the park of the UN building in Geneva.

Alessandra Mammì

Alessandra Mammì,  journalist, art historian and curator, lives and works in Rome. She has been working at L’Espresso weekly magazine for many years, first as the Head of the cultural section and then correspondent for art and cinema, and she won the Saint Vincent award, among the most prestigious in Italy, and the Iccrom award by Unesco.
She currently collaborates with D La Repubblica delle Donne, L’Espresso publishing group, where she writes  a weekly column on the art page, and with L’Espresso online which hosts her blog Ultime visioni. She’s the curator of the ART/TREVI exposition on the relationship between art and cinema for the Cineteca Nazionale; among the artists, Gianfranco Baruchello, Luigi Ontani, Francesco Vezzoli, and previews from young filmmaker artists (Rä di Martino, Inverno muto).

Gianfranco Maraniello

Gianfranco Maraniello was born in Naples and currently lives between Milan and Rovereto, where he directs the Mart, Museum of modern and contemporary art of Trento and Rovereto.
Curator for important national museums, such as the Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena and the Macro in Rome, in 2006 he was curator at the Shanghai Biennale.
From 2005 to 2015 he was director of Bologna’s MAMbo and of the Istituzione Bologna Musei. He taught at LUISS university in Rome and at the Brera Academy in Milan.

Lorenzo Balbi


Lorenzo Balbi is from Turin. After his Bachelor’s degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice, he specialized in Contemporary Art at the University of Turin. He collaborates with Giornale dell’Arte and Giornale dell’Architettura and has been the artistic director of the gallery Verso Artecontemporanea. Since 2007 at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo he organizes exhibition projects in the Foundation’s spaces in Turin and in Guarene d’Alba, as well as the expositions of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo collection abroad. Among the most recent exhibitions: Parole e angurie (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, 2015), Spin-Off. Opere dalla Collezione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Centro de Arte Contemporaneo, Quito, 2015). With Irene Calderoni, Giorgina Bertolino and Vittoria Martini he coordinates CAMPO, the course of the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo for Italian curators.

Fabiola Naldi


Fabiola Naldi was born in Bologna, where she lives and works.
PhD in History of Contemporary Art, critic and independent curator. She teaches Expressive problems of the contemporary at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, as well as Theory of Multimedia Arts at the Academy Carrara in Bergamo. She also teaches Laboratory of Management of Visual Arts at the Master’s degree course of the Faculty of Economics, University of Bologna, and is correspondent for Flash Art
She’s co-curator of the project FRONTIER –La Linea dello Stile.
She has worked as curator at the Biennale del Muro Dipinto di Dozza (Bologna) during the 2009, 2011, 2013 editions.

Franco Pomilio

Creator and founder member

ICS Chairman, coordinator of EuroMediterraNetwork and President of Pomilio Blumm. Trained in the United States, he has specialized in marketing at Harvard University, MIT and the INSEAD campus in Singapore, he has worked in major advertising corporations in the United States, the Middle East and Japan. Author of monographs La Repubblica della Comunicazione (The Republic of Communication, 2010), Comunicazione 3.0 (Communication 3.0, 2011) and Comunicare la trasparenza (Communicating transparency, 2013),  he has developed one of the most original theoretical models of communication between institutions and citizen-consumer.
